If the thought of an in home session is intimidating to you, don’t worry – it was to me too! Our house is far from perfect. Far from clean. And far from finished. It’s stayed mostly bare since we moved in last spring. But it’s ours. 2017 was a huge year for us. Buying our first home and having Lucas – life has changed quite a bit. Yes, the house may have been much neater pre-september. But there is so much more love now.

I wasn’t planning anything fancy for these pictures. Since getting into photography, we have our pictures done at least a handful of times a year. I usually go all out; ordering fancy dresses, professional makeup, a full on Christmas set up. But for this session, I just wanted something real.

Lucas was actually still sleeping when Kara got there so that gave me and Ryan the chance for some pictures of just the two of us (or four, counting the dogs). They definitely aren’t camera shy and Karahas the crazy dog vibes – they acted like they knew each other their whole life.

These pictures are so special to me. Lucas is growing up so fast already – so glad to have some of these memories captured in time.
