Whoa.. What a weekend! I had 6 new photographers sitting in front of me expecting me to teach them something. That is SO crazy to me. Like I told them, I am 100% self taught. I didn’t go to school for photography. Never even took a course on it. I learned most everything I know from Google or Youtube (and of course some of my amazing photographer friends that were kind enough to let me in on all the good stuff.) But wow. If you would have told me 5 years ago.. or even 2 years ago, I would be teaching a beginners camera class I would have laughed! I would have said “Who am I to each anyone?” and trust me, sometimes that thought still crosses my mind. With all the support I have received on these classes, I had people lined up for a second date but honestly I was so anxious about teaching it in the first place that I wanted to wait to see if I was actually able to TEACH them something before scheduling another date.
But I have to say, we had an amazing day together and all 6 photographers that came, showed up ready to learn and were literally the perfect first class for me! We spent most of the day drinking coffee, laughing about how many times I could say f/stop in 2 hours, agreeing that there are WAY TO MANY buttons on these cameras, and even did a little shooting. These gals made my day and made me so excited to continue to persue this education portion of my business.
With that being said, I’m excited to announce another class date! Mark this down! Saturday, April 4th – same time, same place.
If you’re not already on my email list, I would sign up here ASAP so you can be the first to know when registration opens! These classes are small so we are sure to have some one on one time together, so seats go quickly! All info goes out to my email list first!
Always thankful for my friend Hannah who not only came for moral support but took these amazing shots of me and my class!
